Police seek more witnesses after Canberra airport shooting

Police are looking for other witnesses after an alleged shooting in Canberra Airport Last weekend.

ACT Police said that although numerous witness statements were taken, investigators believe there were people who were in and around the recording area at the time who did not haven’t spoken to the police.

The terminal was evacuated around 1:30 p.m. last Sunday when a man allegedly fired about five shots at windows.

Police said no shots were directed at passengers, staff or other people.

No one was injured in the incident but the airport was evacuated and remained closed for about three hours.

Officers are asking anyone with family or friends who used the airport early Sunday afternoon who witnessed suspicious behavior to contact police if they haven’t already.

A similar call goes out to all interstate travelers who used the airport at this time.

He will remain in custody until the case returns to court on September 5.
