Mobile recycling bin

The Pennsylvania Resource Council’s Traveling Glass Recycling Bin will be in Deer Lakes Park from August 27 through September 27. 1. This will be in Veterans Lot 2 on Mahaffey Road near the roundabout. Individuals can deposit glass bottles, jars and decanters of any color (no sorting by color required). Containers should be empty and rinsed out, with lids and labels still in place. Bags and boxes used to deliver glass should be disposed of offsite. For more information, visit prc.org/glass.

On August 25, the Pine Community Center hosts a Farmer’s Market and Food Truck event to mark the end of summer with live music. The event is scheduled from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Pine Community Park near the entrance along Pearce Mill Road.

The Pine Creek Community Band will perform from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Spanish for preschoolers

The Pine Community Center is hosting a new Spanish learning program for children ages 3-5 starting September 28. Children will learn to count and learn phrases and greetings. The cost for the eight-week program, which runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., is $115 for CCP members and $125 for non-members.

story time yoga

Parents of children aged 3 to 5 are invited to take part in a fun introduction to yoga. Participants will read a story and do basic yoga moves before moving on to a craft project. The course will begin on September 13 and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The cost per class is $6 for PCC members and $9 for non-members.

Business Women’s Network

AARP #595 welcomes members and guests to its September reunion featuring the duo Crooks & Klein singing solos and duets of traditional, religious, ancient and big band tunes.
