Specialty Manufacturer Invests in Growth Plans | North West Manufacturing News



A specialist manufacturing company based in West Cumbria plans to continue growing under a £500,000 investment.

Capalex is further enhancing its manufacturing capacity and capabilities at its approximately 61,000 square foot site at Cleator Moor.

Having already invested in robotic technology to improve its capabilities, Capalexx, which employs more than 50 people, is adding new specialized machines this month to its Leconfield site from where it exports worldwide, particularly to Europe, the United States and the South. East Asia as well as throughout the UK.

An aluminum extrusion manufacturing service, Capalex (Capital Aluminum Extrusions Ltd) serves a range of industries including aerospace, architecture, automotive, aviation, defence, display, electronics, engineering, furniture, leisure, marine, product design, retail, rail and signage.

Its products are found in a diverse range of environments from airplane seats to railroad cars, high-end audio to hospitals. They are also deployed in space as part of Earth-orbiting satellite systems.

All of its manufacturing, extrusion, machining, powder coating, heat treatment, assembly, storage and shipping takes place under one roof at its Leconfield site which is taking delivery of the new equipment this month.

Once the new equipment arrives, Capalex is planning a number of environmental improvements to its site, including the creation of a wildflower meadow.

The wider redevelopment of the Leconfield site is part of the West Cumbria regeneration program being implemented by iSH, the industrial solutions centre.
